She was a homeless pregnant cat who was relieved to discover a safe place, especially after giving birth to four lovely kittens the first night she arrived.
The beautiful pregnant cat was rescued from the streets and sent to the RSQ209 animal rescue facility in California.
The poor cat was in really terrible health, was infested with fleas, and it was clear that she required immediate special care.

That’s when Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals decided to take her to their facilities and find her a host home as soon as possible.
In this manner, she landed at the home of Angela Su, a shelter volunteer who, while knowing little about the cat’s situation, promised to care for her.

She went to work right away to get rid of the troublesome fleas and was also treated for other health issues she was experiencing. The beautiful cat was named ‘Iris,’ and ever since she came at her new home, she has transformed into a hairball full of affection, touching everyone and petting everyone while being cared for.

When Iris arrived at her new home, everyone anticipated her to give birth in about a week, but something unexpected happened.
Angela stated:
“To my astonishment, she began having contractions a few hours after her arrival and gave birth to four healthy and adorable kittens. I believe she realized she was finally secure and that we would look after her and her kittens.”

Iris was overjoyed to have found a safe and loving home for her children after a difficult start in life.
She could now count on a warm and comfy bed wrapped in lovely sheets, as well as a delectable buffet for her meals.

Iris didn’t shy away from her adorable babies for the first two days, and she kept them by her side 24 hours a day.
Angela was to bring Iris food and drink every day so she could feed herself and to remind her that she needed to eat in order to recover rapidly.

But Iris was so concerned about taking care of her children that her adoptive mother had to hold the dish of food next to her so she wouldn’t move.
Angela stated:
“She’s one of the most adorable kitties I’ve ever encountered. She nearly always purrs. One of my favorite things about Iris is how much she speaks. With small trills and meows, she continually communicates with me or her babies.”

Iris treats her kittens like treasures, pampering and bathing them even when they are old enough to do it themselves.
Mom Iris, on the other hand, insists on giving them a required bath and keeping all of her kittens pristine and completely clean.

If any of her offspring try to escape from the bath, she grabs them with her paw, meows at them, and bathes them thoroughly.
Iris is an overprotective mother; she watches over her kittens at every step of their journey, and if someone walks away, she runs to see how she is.

She even inspects every new item they find and offers it her seal of approval before allowing her kittens to play with it.

Angela stated:
“Iris originally arrived to me pregnant, flea-infested, and parasite-infested. It saddens my heart to think of what may have occurred if Iris had not been saved. I’m relieved that I was able to get her home on time. Her kittens will never have to spend another day on the streets, and Iris now has all she wants.”

Every time Angela enters the room to see Iris, the cat starts talking to her as if she’s telling her adoptive mother about her day.
The adorable litter is already eight weeks old, yet they are still curled up with their adoring mother to feed herself peacefully.

Iris, the proud mother, still sleeps with her infants in various sections of the home, ensuring their safety and grooming.

For the time being, she will continue to care for her babies, knowing that they are secure and will have a loving home for the rest of their lives.
