The life of a fighting dog is very sad, they are not cared for or loved, they are forced to fight in an atrocious way and if they don’t they end up like Layla and Gracie . Two Pitbull mix dogs were found in a park on the verge of death, but what touched the hearts of the people who rescued them is that while one could not even get up from the pain , her faithful canine friend who was also abandoned in a critical situation was taking care of her. Thanks to the fact that they made a call with the right people, these two canines were helped and the authorities also got involved to find those responsible for animal cruelty .

Pitbull fighting dogs were abandoned on the verge of death
Dogs are faithful to their owners, but also to their friends from the same pack. Layla and Gracie were dumped like garbage in a park outside Philadelphia, USA. They both looked in very poor health, but especially Gracie, who didn’t even have the energy to get up, so her partner lay down on her so she wouldn’t get cold.
The people who passed through the place thought they were dead so they spoke with the authorities and that is where Officer Harper was present. He could not believe that they had signs of blows, but not abuse caused by a human, but rather that they were fighting dogs.
The officer who is also at the service of an animal organization called Justice Rescue approached them and that was when the Pitbull dog in better condition approached her, but she thought he would hit her because she closed her eyes and put her head down.
“Layla came up to me wagging her tail but with her eyes closed, like she thought she might get hit,” Officer Harper said.
Once he gained the trust of both dogs with caresses and praise, he was able to approach more safely to put a vest on them so they would not be colder and go to the vet to be evaluated.
The canines had recent injuries and when they were evaluated they realized that they were only two years old and had been cruelly exploited. However, the dog that was in critical condition was Gracie.

love is the best cure
It wasn’t the first time that Officer Harper had a report of this nature, but he couldn’t ignore the canines, he knew they needed him. So when he became an official and became interested in the subject of animal rescue, he began to tell the story of both of them to receive funds and have a second chance.
“Gracie and Layla are two dogs who were fought and abused their entire lives, then starved to death and dumped like garbage. He just looks at Layla’s scars. Very sad”. He posted on his Justice Rescue Facebook account
Treatments began for both of them, and despite the fact that Gracie was in a worse state, once she looked at her rescuer, she showed joy and even wanted to play with him a little. She was not aggressive, she was kind and days later she had more energy, although she still had a long way to go.
“They love affection, they don’t know what to do with it,” Harper told The Dodo.
Thanks to the medical attention they gave both of them, they were able to get ahead. The fact was in 2017, but it is still shocking to know it because it is the situation that many dogs of strong breeds live. Surely both were recovering little by little because in the last visual posts on Facebook it was seen that both had a satisfactory recovery.
